Heart Rate Variability as well as Lifespan wellness, with Dr. Torkil Faero
What’s the link between heart rate variability and lifespan wellness? This is a concept that I briefly remember studying in medical school, but beyond that, I didn’t pay much attention to it. But I was happy to learn more in a recent podcast discussion with a doctor from Norway. On a recent episode ofCauses or Cures, I chatted with Dr. Torkil Færø about heart rate variability and why he believes it’s essential to ideal well-being and healthy aging. Dr. Færø explains what heart rate variability is, the differences between high and low variability, and how to monitor it using top wearables. He also discusses his best-selling book,The Pulse Cure, which offers a revolutionary method to balance mind pressure, enhance vitality, and live longer. Plus, he shares eight strategies everyone might opt to adopt to add ’24 years’ to their life. (I was skeptical too! ;)) Dr. Færø is a physician, documentary filmmaker, author, and award-winning photographer. With 26 years as a freelance doctor across Norway and over 100,000 consultations, he recognized that many diseases stem from lifestyle-induced mental tension. After his father’s death at 73, he overhauled his own mind-body health, shedding 40 pounds and using wearables to track and regulate his nervous system. He has authoredThe Pulse Cure,The Camera Cure, created TV films on pilgrimages, and traveled to over 80 countries, speaking eight languages. I invite you to tune in to the episodeHere! And if so compelled, please share this episode with your friends and family members who may not know much about heart rate variability. Spread the vitality, right? :) Here’s a clip from the podcast ( I post poignant podcast clips on my Youtube channel) of him discussing the 8 strategies that add 24 years to your life: And if you haven’t yet, Check out this fun andenlightening episodewith the Medicine Hunter.
